A plain-language overview of how Restora approaches responsible information use. Contractual and deployment-specific terms control where applicable.
Purpose and scope
This privacy notice describes how Restora Education Infrastructure, Inc. (“Restora”) handles information in support of authorized student presence operations, platform security, service delivery, and customer administration. It is a general overview; customer agreements, data processing terms, and deployment-specific notices govern where they apply.
Information we collect
Account information for authorized users (such as name and email address); student, family, and operational records that district customers enter to run presence and recovery workflows; and limited operational and audit logs generated as the platform runs. Collection is limited to what an authorized task requires.
How we use information
To provide the platform, authenticate users, operate presence and recovery workflows, coordinate services, maintain security and audit trails, and administer customer accounts. Sensitive student and family information is not used for unrelated marketing and is not sold.
Student information
Student records are entered and controlled by the district customer. Restora processes that information on the customer’s instructions under agreement. Access is role-based and tenant-scoped, and collection follows a minimum-necessary approach.
School and district relationships
Schools and districts are the controllers of their records and retain governance responsibilities, including lawful use, correction, retention, archival, and deletion appropriate to their jurisdiction. Restora acts as a processor for customer data as defined in customer agreements.
Retention
Records support archival and deletion controls. Retention, archival, and deletion are governed by the customer’s operating policy and applicable legal requirements; the platform provides the controls to act on those decisions.
Disclosure
Information is disclosed to authorized users within the same tenant as their role permits, to subprocessors engaged under appropriate agreements, and where required by law or customer agreement. Disclosure outside these paths is not made.
Cookies and analytics
The platform uses limited cookies and platform analytics to operate and improve the service. Analytics are used to understand product use and are not used to sell personal information. Users may manage browser cookie settings as provided by their environment.
Your rights
Individuals may exercise access, correction, and related requests through their district or by contacting Restora using the contact below. Requests are handled subject to the customer agreement and applicable law.
Subprocessors
A current subprocessor list is provided to customers under contract and reviewed during procurement. No subprocessor is engaged for customer data without an appropriate agreement.
Security and access
Tenant boundaries, role-aware access, authentication, audit events, and environment separation support responsible handling. No technical system eliminates all risk; controls require ongoing review.
